STATISTICS
Mission
Statistics is an interdisciplanry discipline that studies the collection, evaluation, interpretation and presentation of data in all areas of life. The science of statistics is applied in a wide range from engineering and natural sciences to social sciences, economics and public relations. In global competition conditions, all private and public institutions, production and product development processes total quality management process, market and market research system reliability and experimental design tools are used in fields such as statistical science. In addition, the need for statisticians in many areas, especially insurance, banking, finance actuarial and risk management, stock market, decision support systems, health and earthquake research is increasing. The aim of this course is to meet the need for basic mathematical theories, statistical theory, probability and stochastic processes, statistical theory and methods, time series analysis, statistical information systems and computer networks and artificial intelligence, statistical quality control and Total Quality Management, Six Sigma and in addition to the Lean Manufacturing Approach, it is aimed to provide the students with the knowledge of optimization methods and basic information in social sciences such as Operation Research, data mining, experimental design and analysis of variance, fuzzy logic and statistical application, risk analysis and thecnical knowledge.
