In our university, a great number of sports activities,which are pioneered by the Center of Health, Culture and Sports, are held with the co-operation of Student’s Council and clubs besides the activities done regularly and in a planned way.

İstanbul aydın University, which is interested in many field of sports, has several champi-onships in arm wrestling, bowling, basketball,and also has been taking place into positions of representing Turkey abroad.

The aim of sport activities is to help students spend their free time according to their interests, become more interested in sports, to contribute their body and mental health, to support and encourrage their abilities, to develop their social relationships by producing, sharing and creating solutions.

Football, bowling, voleyball, table tennis, chess and arm wrestle teams, which were establish with the contributions of our studens, attend not only the matches in the university itself, but also the ones among other universities.

The list of awards of some students;

- First prize in the Right and Left Arm Wrestle matches among the universities in Turkey (2 Gold Medals),

- Second prize in Right and Left Arm Wrestle matches among the universities in Turkey (% Gold and Silver Medal)


The athletes of Istanbul Aydın University brought medals to their
school in various divisions such as football, tennis, snowboard and
Our teams and athletes won 6 championships, 4 runner-up positions,
and 2 second runner-up positions with a total of 12 cups. They also
won 65 gold medals, 68 silver medals and 38 bronze medals.
Istanbul aydin University is striving to provide an enhanced social life
to its students as well as a high quality education. In addition to their
educational success, our students also achieve their goals in arts,
sports and technology. Like the past years, after a long and tough
season, they brought to their school many cups and medals. IAU
supports its athletes by providing them with the necessary facilities
and the opportunities to work with professional coaches.
Victory in the Ring
Buğra Bozaslan, a national boxing team boxer studying at Istanbul
Aydın University, took part in the Interuniversity Boxing Tournament
organized by Ordu University. Bozaslan challenged Murat Korkmaz
from Erzurum University for the final match. Bozaslan won the gold
medal and honored Istanbul Aydın University once again.
New Members for the National Team
One of our athletes, Feyza Can came in second at 53 kilos at the
Turkish Karate Clubs Championship and the National Team Audition
and was elected to be in the National Team.
IAU Arm Wrestling Team won the championship in the Interuniversity
Arm Wrestling Championship organized by Interuniversity Sport
Federation. Our team won the championship with 2 gold medals, 4
silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
Istanbul Aydın University Women’s Basketball Team became the
champion in the Interuniversity First League Basketball Tournament
organized at the sport complex of Istanbul Technical University. Our
team won 12 gold medals in the tournament.
Our team came in second at The Super League Qualification
Tournament hosted by the Hitit University and qualified for The
Super League.
We reward our athletes with scholarships.
Istanbul Aydın University grants the Success at Sport Scholarship
to the successful athletes who were admitted to any faculty or
programme without any other scholarship. To be eligible for this
scholarship, the athletes have to play in national or international
matches. The amount of financial support is determined by the
Board of Trustees.
We are Successful in Every Field
Our teams have won a number of cups in popular sports including
football, basketball, tennis and volleyball as well as other sports
like wrestling, karate, arm wrestling. They can benefit from all the
facilities of Istanbul Aydın University during their education.
Our Volleyball Teams on the Super League
Men’s volleyball team and women’s volleyball team of Istanbul
Aydın University both won the championship at the Super League
Qualification Tournament and qualified for the Super League. Our
teams won 34 gold medals in total.

The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
