SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Istanbul Aydın University aims to teach at least one foreign language to its students and enable them to use this foreign
language for professional, academic and business purposes. For this purpose, our school provides education to the lecturers in professional and academic English and updates its course contents every academic year according to the characteristics of the programs and professional areas.
With its English, Russian and Spanish classes which form the Preparatory Program for Foreign Languages, the Preparatory
School provides the opportunity to learn these widely spoken global languages in an academic year to both new beginner students and also those who want to advance their language levels as well as everyone who wants to register in our school even though they are not students at Istanbul Aydın University.
The English Preparatory Program is completed in two semesters including four separate TRACKs. There is every kind of infrastructure to enable students to use their foreign language in the best way. Our students can benefit from multimedia classes, classes with e-beam and smart board; and Audio-Visual Language Laboratories which can be accessed
anytime during the day and where they can reach satellite broadcasts. Moreover, the students can follow the CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) courses which are integrated into our foreign language curriculum during
in-class activities and/or by themselves at home.
English Preparatory Program curriculum is completely student-centered. The program was prepared in parallel to the TOEFL-IBT exam which will be taken by every student at the end of the year and evaluated as the final exam. In this program, there are A, B and C levels. If they wish, the students can study abroad to follow their courses for TRACK 3 and/or 4.
The Preparatory School gives academic support to preparatory programs for Russian and Spanish Translation Departments
as well as the general, professional, business English and English for special and academic purposes in all undergraduate
and associate degrees.

LANGUAGE COURSES

Students can improve their foreign language skills or start to learn another foreign language.

The aim of our center is to arrange educational programs which are needed by the information society apart from associate degree, bachelor’s degree and graduate programs.

Day by day, we have been facing a new term or concept in our lives. Rapid change in business life requires individuals to obtain information on new issues and use it in a competitive environment.

All the programs of our center are prepared by our experienced academic staff, and at the end of training programs, a certificate is given to our trainees.

Individuals who want to ensure a competitive superiority are invited to our center's training programs of which the philosophy is ''Education is meaningful if it is continuous''.

Tomer is established to teach Turkish to foreign students in a modern learning environment with modern methods.
The education program of the center is formulated according to the Common European Framework of Reference

AKTS, aynı zamanda, yükseköğretim kurumlarına, öğretim programları ve ders içeriklerinin iş yüküne bağlı olarak kolay anlaşılabilir bir yapıda tasarlanması, uygulanması, gözden geçirilmesi, iyileştirilmesi ve bu sayede yükseköğretim programlarının kalitesinin geliştirilmesine ve kalite güvencesine önemli katkı sağlayan bir sistematik yaklaşım sunmaktadır. ETIS : İstanbul Aydın University Education & Training System Istanbul Aydin University ECTS Information Package ECTS Information Package European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) which was introduced by the European Council in 1989, within the framework of Erasmus, now part of the Life Long Learning Programme, is a student-centered credit system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme specified in terms of learning outcomes and competences to be acquired. The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
