ON-SITE PRACTICAL TRAINING (WORKPLACEMENT)

Istanbul Aydın Univesity has brought something unique by providing their students practical training on-sites in selected workplaces one day in a week. This provides students with an opportunity to transform their theoretical knowledge into practice, besides they meet the business sector and gain experience in the feld of their studies.

The workplacement is compulsory for short-cycle programmes and vocational schools in 2nd, 3rd and 4th semesters and for bachelor's degree programmes in 5th, 6th and 7th semesters. Weekly Course plans are prepared specially so that the students spend one day in a week in the work places during the semesters in which the work placement is integrated to the curriculums as a part of degree programmes.

 

 

What is Solution Partner?

All the institutions and companies cooperating with Istanbul Aydın University  have become our “Solution Partners” in terms of social responsibility and contribution to education.


What is the purpose?

By placing the students into the appropriate departments of solution partners  in certain days of the week, it is aimed  to encourage them to observe,  recognize the institution system, witness the business relations , integrate into the work flow and its processes  and then contribute to efficiency  after a while.


What are the advantages of “On-site Application” for the stundents?

Thanks to on-site applications, the students not only have the chance to practice while continuing their education, but also meet professional business life. After getting  two years on-site application training, the students  would graduate with the clear idea about  their career goals.


What are the advantages of “On-site Application” for the institutions?

The institutions and companies would train the students, who recognize them well  and learn the system, show great perfomance and adapt them easily, for future recruitment.

 

How are the student and the company determined?

Selection and work placement  are done based on the student’s work experience, success, teaching staff’s opinions about the student and the company structure, its human resources management, expectations. In addition, the student’s personal interests, career goals and his/her address are the criterias taken into consideration. Students may also find their application places by themselves. The students must go to their application places enounced by the on-site application center.

In the process with on-site application and solution partner firstly, students number is detected then selection –placement is done in accordance with institutions expectations, and finally selected students’ information is given to the personel in charge.

 

How long does it take?

Academic semesters last 14 weeks excluding examination periods in İstanbul Aydın University. One week after the beginning of the semester, selection-placement and planning are in progress. On site application takes 14 weeks on certain days.


Attendance

The students  must obey the working conditions and the regulations related the work safety of the institutions they are placed. If they do not obey or attend 3 times with/out permisson, their application will end and On-site Application Center will be informed about it.


Perfomance evaluation

After 14 weeks application is completed,  the student’s performance, knowledge, skills, his/her utilisation rate and behaviours are evaluated by the person in charge and given a performance note.

 

On-site application file

Students should record the works, observations, evaluation they have done as weekly reports into the on-site application file after the process is completed.

A supervisor who is in charge with the student activities in the work place fills in the associated parts  with performance evaluation, opinion about the student and suggestions about on-site application and summer internship then signs and stamps the application file. The student has to hand in the file to the head of depaetment in one week after the term of the workplacement expires.

 

Final Evaluation

Final evaluation of the on-site training (workplacement) is evaluated based on the üniveritiy's Worplacement Directive. Taking into account the report and performans evalaution submitted by the student and workplace at the end of the training period, student's final performance is evaluated as the "Pass (P)" or "Fail (F)" basis by the Workplacement Commitee established within the each department.

GRADUTE PLACEMENT (MYM)


İstanbul Aydin University, being aware of the importance of the vocational school and organizes the career plans for the students during the school period.Graduate Placement Center recruits students according to their education and abilities and directs them accordingly.

With the cooperation of Vocational Training Center and Graduate Placement Center, 86% of the graduates in the end of the last academic period were ptaraütf1 on permanent positions in our partner organizations.

 

 

Istanbul Aydin University helps its graduates to do their own career planning according to their interests and skills and guide them to the work that is appropriate to their experience, skills and abilities. The Graduate Placement Center, which forms the link between graduates and the institutions regarding work placements of our university graduates to elite institutions, was established to help our graduates to find valuable business opportunities by using their knowledge and skills. In addition, it helps them plan their careers and to organize events where students can get information on work sectors for potential employment.

Another goal of our university is to introduce our students to business life and companies after their graduation and help them create their career awareness and plan the future. In accordance with this target we help our students develop themselves by analyzing our country’s successful companies and giving them information about necessary qualifications that are needed by these companies. On one hand, employment possibilities will be provided to our students, on the other hand a qualified labor force will be presented to our country’s economy.

The Graduate Placement Center reaches Istanbul Aydın University graduates through its CV pool and helps themfind an appropriate job that matches the qualifications the company needs. Interview stages and the recruitment process for an appropriate candidate is then pursued. Eightysix percent of our graduates in the last three years following graduation, settled to work within a year.
