ACCESS TO FURTHER STUDIES
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to doctorate (third cycle) degree programmes in or related fields of Sociology (withthesis). According to Article 2.a of the National Regulations on Graduate Education, students are admitted to third cycle programmes taking into account their first and second cycle degree achievement levels and the scores on the subject-specific entrance examinations of the Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) centrally administered by the ÖSYM. Within the framework of the national regulations, regulations endorsed by the senate of each university stipulate the weight of ALES Examination results in the overall evaluation of candidates. A second national requirement to apply for a third cycle degree programme is a certain proficiency level of a foreign language. In the overall evaluation of candidates, scores obtained from ALES Examination are allotted a minimum score of 55 and weight of 50% and foreign language proficiency level 55 from ÜDS or 65 from KPDS, both are multiple purpose language examinations, centrally administered by the ÖSYM or equivalent scores obtained from other internationally recognised foreign language examinations such as TOEFL, IELTS. |
