The Department of Special Education Teacher Education was established in the academic
year of 2016-2017 in accordance with the restructuring of the Higher Education
Council's education faculties. The aim of our department is to produce, disseminate
and use information at universal level in the field of individuals and trainings in need of
special education in line with the mission of university and department.
The purpose of the Special Education Teacher Training Program is to train special
education teachers who can give individual or group education to individuals with
special education needs (such as hearing, sight, mental disability and special ability),
special education and related services, planning, execution and monitoring. Additional
points are awarded to graduates of child development, child development and care,
child development and education departments of vocational and technical secondary
education institutions. The employment of the teacher candidates graduated from the
Special Education Program is connected to the Ministry of National Education; special
education and training centers, special education and training centers, special
education and rehabilitation centers, special education and training centers,
special education vocational training centers, special education sub-classes
(primary school-secondary school-high school) They may also apply to the
staff of the classroom teachers who are open to the Science and Art Centers
if they meet the conditions. The vision of our program is to educate highly
creative teachers who specialize in 6 basic special education areas in which
the Higher Education Council is determined for the education of students
with special education needs and who are researchers, principled, open to
development, to develop their academic skills, to realize their potential, to
be useful individuals to their country and to all humanity.
We can list the aims of this program which reflects our mission in
the direction of our above reasons and vision which reveals the
necessity of opening the program as follows
a) To educate teachers who can best meet the educational needs
of the students in need of special education in the formal education
environment,
b) To educate the teachers who follow the new technologies and
pedagogical approaches in the education of the students with
special education needs,
c) To ensure that the course content required for the training
of teachers in the above mentioned qualifications is established,
d) To ensure that special education teachers, with their theoretical
and practical training of education, have the best equipment in
four years,
e) Providing a training facility for the development of special
education teachers, as well as the basic knowledge to enable
them to undertake academic study in this area, as well as to
improve their scientific research skills.

Career Opportunities
Department graduates, T.C. In schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and
