LOCAL GOVERMENTS AND DECENTRALIZATION(DE)
The main objectives of the Local Administrations and Decentralization Master's program are; to examine government and private sector relations, to provide intensive and comprehensive information to embed governance and democratic management models and to help in scientific studies in these areas. In addition to this, non-governmental organizations called third sector are introduced with the decentralization philosophy and types of decentralization, their functions. In addition, theoretical and practical studies are carried out within the program. The students prepare and present seminars with the case study method.
The Local Administrations and Decentralization master's program without thesis is a 66 ECTS program, the normal completion period is 2 academic years consisting of 4 semesters. The course load of 60 ECTS is taken in the first 2 academic semesters, and the 6 ECTS term project course is completed in the last 2 semesters. For graduation, student education and training load and term project course must be completed successfully. The program is also open to non-field applications and the course load of students can be increased by the recommendation of the head of the relevant department and the decision of the institute board of directors considering the education they have received before. Students who successfully complete the master's program are entitled to receive a non-thesis master's degree in Local Administrations and Decentralization.
