Aim
1Train mathematics teachers who have gained the understanding of contemporary mathematics at both national and international standards by combining the theoretical knowledge and application skills in this area.
2Train mathematics teachers be able to work in secondary schools (grades 5-8) and to gain mathematical thinking, communication and association, problem solving and reasoning skills to their students, to present examples of their use.
3Educate students with conceptual, qualified, moral, self-sacrificing and idealistic teachers who have scientific perspectives on field and vocational knowledge, which enable students to implement student-oriented approaches in mathematics teaching.
4Train teachers with knowledge and sensitivity who can design the solution phases of problem processes and examine solutions in terms of other disciplines and social dimensions; in addition to basic mathematical knowledge, gained pedagogical knowledge, skills and equipment that the modern educator will need in his professional life.
5It is aimed to train teachers who have knowledge of the use of tools and technology in their fields, have problem solving skills, have knowledge about the nature and historical development of mathematics, know the students' developmental characteristics, plan teaching according to these characteristics and develop materials.
6To educate elementary school mathematics teachers who have social aspects, communication skills, environmental awareness, sensitivity to environmental problems and who have adopted positive attitudes and behaviors towards mathematics education and love mathematics to students in the frame of National Education Basic Law.
Objectives
1It is aimed to improve the attitude of the teacher candidates towards mathematics positively, to gain mathematical communication skills and mathematical and interdisciplinary association skills.
2With the necessity of our age, it is aimed to train qualified mathematics teachers with high level skills such as scientific and analytical thinking ability, reasoning and prediction skills, critical thinking of mathematical events, mathematical and interdisciplinary association, abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis.
3Train teachers who have full knowledge of mathematics, who know the methods and techniques needed in mathematics teaching, have the ability to develop materials appropriate to these methods and techniques, and adapt technology, who are able to master the developments in our country and in the world in mathematics education, and that will make students love mathematics.
4It is aimed to train teachers who can use their theoretical knowledge and practical experience in mathematics, mathematics education, learning-teaching theories and approaches, measurement-evaluation, scientific research methods and techniques, education system and school management while they are practicing their professions and can be good examples for students and colleagues.
5Bring the educators in society who explain and know their aims and principles the Basic Laws of Turkish National Education at the secondary school level.

ETIS : İstanbul Aydın University Education & Training System Istanbul Aydin University ECTS Information Package ECTS Information Package European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) which was introduced by the European Council in 1989, within the framework of Erasmus, now part of the Life Long Learning Programme, is a student-centered credit system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme specified in terms of learning outcomes and competences to be acquired. The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
