Aim
1New Media Non-Thesis Master Program; integrate new communication tools, digital media and social networking networks (youtube, facebook, twitter, instagram, blog etc.) with an ethical approach, produce content for these networks, and control and manage these networks with theoretical knowledge and practical applications. aims to educate individuals with aesthetic values.
2With the development and diversification of technology in the field of communication in recent years, new media-related technologies have become an important industry worldwide. Therefore, there is a need to develop academic theory and practice in the context of new media. It is aimed to meet this requirement with “Departman of New Media and Communication”.
3Technology is produced in line with the individual and social needs of humanity. Today's technological developments have been requiring change in the field of new media . The dijitalizing of the individual communication have been bringing along the new practices.As a result, indispensable elements of the communication process; vehicle, medium, channel, groove etc. the media (communication medium), which we express with concepts, has become “new media” with its interactivity, virtuality, digital, hyper-text qualities. Along with Web 2.0 , the new media has eliminated the concepts of time and space because it allows bi-directional and simultaneous information sharing. Besides of this, it differs from traditional media with its characteristics such as usability and access.
Objectives
1The aim of the "New Media Non-Thesis Master Program" which was opened in 2017 by Istanbul Aydın University Institute of Social Sciences; to equip students with hands-on knowledge and experience in the media, culture and communication sectors and to train experts who follow the latest developments in media and communication technologies and adapt them to their professions.
2Recently, new media has been using commonly not only for individual purposes but also for social purposes. The fact that many sectors such as marketing, advertising, and journalism produce strategies intertwined with the new media require that students planning their future receive education in modern, future-oriented and strategic professions in this direction. The 'Departman of New Media and Communication' aims to raise individuals who can survive and progress continuously in the changing structure of business life. The global structure of the new media, will enable students who graduate from the department to work wherever technology is available. Thus, the department will not only teach the strategic management of a new medium, but will also enable its students to speak a global language. Technology plays a big role especially in the change of future generations. In this context, 'New Media and Communication' graduates will be able to understand and make sense of the society and the individual who have gained a new profile. What are the highlights of the department (training, application, facility ... etc.)? 'In the education of New Media and Communication' theory and practice are intertwined.
3Students in the New Media and Communication Department will be able to produce digital products and messages by putting their theoretical knowledge into practice in the 'VR Lab'. In addition, the graduate students may have opportunity experienced by the individual using the technology in the New Media Application and Research Center within the scope of our university, and to scientifically analyze new media literacy and dynamics in the context of world and country realities. Henceforth, they may published relevant scientific repors and articles. Under the scope of education, graduate students will be able to produce projects together with leading technology companies in the industry, so that they can get support while taking the first steps of their career throughout their education life. In this context, the student will be able to progress comfortably and safely in any career path, as an individual with both practical and academic knowledge.

The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
