PHYSICAL FACILITIES

Istanbul Aydin University aims to offer the students an academic environment supported by social and cultural activities, a joyful and active life in the campus.

The university is built on an outdoor area of about 400.000 m2 which encloses a 150.000 m2 indoor area, and provides the students with modern and technological opportunities like spacious classrooms, amphitheatres, laboratories, libraries, and conference halls.

Technical and vocational programs which require applicotional instructions are given in realistic atmosphere of laboratories, ateliers and studies under the guidance of academic staff. By this way, the students get familiarity with their future occupational environments like food laboratories; fashion, textile, automotive and jewellery ateliers; graphic, photography, tv, radio studios; and sound and post-production studios.

Along with the technical and vocational environment, the students are also provided with rich social facilities like restaurants, cafeterias, tv and music rooms, club rooms and infirmaries.

The campuses, which are closely in touch with the social and professional circumference, can be easily and economically reached by public transportation. Open and closed car parking facilities are also available for the ones who prefer to access to the campus sites by private vehicles.

TECHNOLOGICAL FACILITIES

Istanbul Aydin University follows the recent technology and provides education with the improved infrastructure.  Computer facilities and high speed internet access points (kiosks) located at all over the campus are up to date and available for students free of charge from 07:00 till 23:00 including the weekends. It is also design as a wireless campus with high speed WLAN coverage that students and faculty use the network for educational and academic purposes, such as conducting research or accessing online resources like lecture notes and library materials as well as for accessing campus information system and for communication.

 

The university has a connection with producers of hardware and software such as Microsoft, Oracle, HP, IBM and Cisco and the students have the opportunity to reach and examine various projects worldwide.

 

PCs and lab computers are of a minimum of P4 configurations, hardware is updated at the beginning of each semester, while software is updated every ten days. Our university offers courses related to information in particular and many programs and methods as well as interactive education and visual support in the classrooms. Istanbul Aydin University is one of the leading universities, which offers smart board technology in line with the content of the course.

SOCIAL & CULTURAL LIFE

Istanbul Aydın University fosters social climates in different areas by taking into account students, lecturers and employees’ needs. In Florya campus, there are six and in Bahçelievler campus three cafeterias which meet the eating needs of 5000 people at the same time. In addition, five garden cafes are located in Florya campus and one garden cafe is located in Bahçelievler campus. Beverage and food needs of our students are met at reasonable prices in the dining hall, cafeteria and recreation areas, with separate physical spaces created for faculty and staff. In our university a shopping center, bank, beauty and hairdressing salons provide service for all kinds of needs of university students.

 

Student clubs and societies, as from the dates established, and nongovernmental organizations will be useful in understanding the various activities conducted in the near and distant surroundings.

Istanbul Aydın University is a living organisation. From politics, business, bureaucracy, social and cultural areas, leading figures attended the weekly “Hayata Dair (Into the life)” conferences; thousands of students gather at different times in order to recognize the historical and cultural places with trips, poetry, literature, cinema, theater and dance performances, and technological innovations in the field to share information, and in this area IT days were held to encourage young talent.

ETIS : İstanbul Aydın University Education & Training System Istanbul Aydin University ECTS Information Package ECTS Information Package European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) which was introduced by the European Council in 1989, within the framework of Erasmus, now part of the Life Long Learning Programme, is a student-centered credit system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme specified in terms of learning outcomes and competences to be acquired. The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
